Lee County Robbery Sentence Affirmed

JACKSON — The conviction and sentence of a Lee County man has been upheld by the Mississippi Court of Appeals.

In February 2013, Ryan McClendon was found guilty of armed robbery and sentenced to 25 years, with 15 years suspended and five years of post-release supervision. McClendon appealed , claiming his lawyer was ineffective and the evidence provided was not in support of the verdict.

Presiding Judge Tyree Irving was not in favor of either of the counts and approved the decision of the Lee County Circuit Court.

In November of 2010, McClendon robbed a woman at gunpoint on Jackson Street in Tupelo and was witnessed fleeing from the scene. There were also two acquaintances whom testified against McClendon.
