Video: Legendary Blues Queen Hosts Book Signing in West Point

WEST POINT, Miss. (WCBI) – Blues music lovers got the opportunity to meet a legendary blues club queen in West Point on Saturday.

Mary Shepherd is known as the Queen of the legendary blues club, Club Ebony in Indianola. She held a book signing and sold t-shirts at the Main Street Market in West Point. Shepherd welcomed several famed blues artists into her club and it’s also where B.B. King got his start. After 35 years in business, she sold the club and it’s now a must see stop on the Mississippi Blues Trail.

“Mary Shepherd Day” is recognized on April 6th in Mississippi.
