Lighten Up! Running is Fun!

TUPELO, Miss.(WCBI) — The weather held off for the most part in downtown Tupelo Saturday morning.

So the HealthWorks! annual Tie-Dye 5K and Fun Run went off as scheduled at Fair Park.

It celebrated the completion the youth fitness program called Lighten Up-Running is Fun! sponsored by HealthWorks!

Tupelo Motor Manufacturing Mississippi Inc, Magnolia Health and the Tupelo Quality of Life Committee.

Local Students ages 8-13 have been training for their first 5K since March.

There were also other physical activities available for the children.

It was all part of an effort to raise awareness of the importance of exercise and and fun to overall health.
