Link Official Named To International Council

PRESS RELEASE

Golden Triangle, Mississippi – The International Council of Shopping Centers has named the Golden Triangle Development LINK’s Brenda Lathan as the Alliance Co-Chair for Mississippi’s Public Sector. Of ICSC’s 68,000+ members worldwide, Lathan is one of the 300 selected to represent the association.

The Alliance Co-Chair is an ICSC volunteer leadership position comprised of one member from the private sector and one member from the public sector. The co-chairs serve at the state, provincial and divisional levels and provide leadership and direction for local Alliance programs and initiatives. Alliance Co-Chairs are committed to building positive relationships between the public and private sectors of the retail real estate industry.

Lathan has been a member of ICSC since the Link’s inception in 2003.  Columbus’ retail development program was designed by Lathan and deemed best practices by the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) which was used as a model for the TVA Consumer Connection pilot program. She presented the Columbus retail development program to 27 TVA communities at the Consumer Connection orientation and the Tennessee Rural Development Annual Conference.

Founded in 1957, the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) is the global trade association of the shopping center industry. Its more than 60,000 members in over 90 countries include shopping center owners, developers, managers, marketing specialists, investors, retailers and brokers, as well as academics and public officials. As the global industry trade association, ICSC links with more than 25 national and regional shopping center councils throughoutthe world.

Lathan is currently the Executive Vice President for Economic Development at the GTR LINK.
