Local Family Hosts Fish Fry for a Good Cause

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) — Many times it’s when a student hits college, that the family thinks about the expense of a quality education. But for many, a student’s senior year in high school can cost more than anticipated.

And one older brother is helping out his twin sisters to make sure they have a great senior year.

Devonta Nash is stepping up to ensure his younger twin sister’s have the best senior year.

He says times have recently been tough for the family, as they are living off of one income.

Nash decided to host a fish fry fundraiser to help his sister’s raise money for costs such as senior pictures, cap and gown, and funds for prom.

The family has taken to social media to get the word out about the community wide fish fry.

He says this fundraiser is a way to make sure they have the best senior year at Columbus High School.

“I just decided to do it for my sister’s because I understand the fact that we only have one parent working in the house, so money is limited. So I decided to come up with something interesting and fun that the whole community could get involved with,” said Devonta Nash.

The family does plan on hosting more fundraiser throughout the year.
