Local Mentor Group Serves Thanksgiving Meal

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – A local organization that mentors young people served up a hot meal to the community.
It was a Thanksgiving meal a day early for many in Columbus.

Sponsored by “Jewels and Gems Family Empowerment Ministry”, this is the second annual Turkey Day meal.

“Jewels and Gems” is a community support group and organizers say it’s an honor to give back to those in need.

“This is a community that I’ve been raised in for the last 37 years. And to be able to give back within is just a blessing, to be able to do this for the people I grew up with,” said “Jewels and Gems” Director Yvonne Robinson.

“Jewels and Gems” plans to make their community Thanksgiving dinner bigger and better in the future.
