Lock Down Lifted. Starkville Police Search for Robber.

STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) — Starkville Police responded immediately.

It was a robbery at the Cash Till on Louisville Street in Starkville that caused the Starkville School District to place the nearby high school on a brief lock down.

Police set up a perimeter at check cashing business near Lynn Lane.

Police Chief David Lindley says a man entered the Cash Till and took an undisclosed amount of money. His officers were on the scene almost immediately. Investigators are searching for the suspect this evening.

Standard procedure for the Starkville School District is to lock down school facilities if there is an active police investigation nearby.
