A Weir man is being transported by ambulance to the hospital after the log truck he was driving overturned in Bruce around 1 p.m. Thursday (2/21).

Kenny Wayne Patterson, 61, was traveling south on Hwy. 9 delivering a load of logs to Weyerhaeuser when, according to witnesses, his truck edged off the west side of the highway and overturned in Rex Jarrett’s yard, across the road from Viola Beckett’s home.

Patterson’s injuries weren’t considered life-threatening as emergency workers placed him on a stretcher and loaded him in the ambulance.

Bruce and Chickenbone firemen were diverting traffic around that portion of the highway to enable the large truck to be turned upright and hauled away.

Contact was being made with Weyerhaeuser officials to see if they could help pick up the scattered logs.

The truck is owned by Johnny Black of Ackerman.

The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
