Longtime Chickasaw County Circuit Clerk Dies

HOUSTON, Miss. (WCBI) – Longtime Chickasaw County Circuit Clerk Sandra Willis has passed away.

Willis died Sunday from cancer. She served as circuit clerk since 1992, more than 22 years. Willis was also a teacher with the Houston schools for 22 years.

A special moment of silence was held Monday morning during the opening day of Circuit Court.

The board of supervisors will appoint an interim clerk to serve the remainder of her term at its September 16th meeting.

Memorial services are at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday at Houston First United Methodist Church. Houston Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
