Louisville Academy Park Rumors

Louisville, Miss. (WCBI) — Hopefully there are less rumors surrounding what is intended for Academy Park in Louisville.

During an August meeting of the Mayor and Board of Aldermen it was confirmed that there are “no” plans to build residential housing on park property. The area was under discussion for development, but just that… discussion.

The park had been closed prior to the April tornado due to vandalism and some disrepair. After the discussion on the future of the park and any housing being built anywhere… it was decided the public would be given an opportunity to weigh in on the outcome. A public hearing which has not been officially set, could take place in two weeks.
