NORTHEAST MISSISSIPPI (WCBI) — Northeast Mississipians can expect lower premiums when 2015 rolls around.

Individuals shopping for health care through healthcare.gov are looking at an approximated 25 percent drop in their premiums.

Magnolia Health President and CEO Dr. Jason Dees cited the requirement mandating health insurers spend at least 80 percent of its premiums on health care as the cause for the drop.

Magnolia Health enrolled some 20,000 Mississippians through the health insurance exchange, most of whom chose the silver plan.

Health care open enrollment begins in November.
