Video: Lowndes County Honors Parents of the Year

LOWNDES COUNTY, Miss. ( WCBI) — Four Lowndes County parents were honored at the district meeting Friday.

The district presented the parents with a plaque acknowledging their volunteer efforts and support throughout the school year.

Tawanda Banks was picked from New Hope High, Lashanda Brooks from West Lowndes Elementary, Tim Sewell was picked from Caledonia High, and Amy Sumrall was picked from Caledonia Elementary.

Sumrall was picked as the overall parent of the year she is now eligible to win Mississippi Parent of the Year.

That will be announced in a few months.
