Video: Area Communities Observe National Day of Prayer

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – Dozens gathered on the lawn of the Lowndes County Courthouse Thursday to observe the National Day of Prayer.

The event included prayers from community leaders for different entities, including government, families, business, churches, and media.

The Missionary Union Baptist Church choir provided music.

WCBI’S own Allie Martin was the MC for the event.

In Starkville, Oktibbeha County residents, ministers, business and political leaders came together at the SportsPlex to add their voices to the National Day of Prayer.

They joined to give thanks, and pray for their community, the State, and the Nation.

In West Point, community members gathered to host a parade celebrating the day.

Members of the West Point High School’s Junior R O T C, along with the marching band paraded through West Point.

Third Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church organized the parade, they marched from the church to the Sally Kate Winters Park in downtown.
