Video: Lowndes Deputy Crashes, Escapes Injury Responding To Call

LOWNDES COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – A Lowndes County deputy crashed and escaped injury while responding to an automobile accident on Thursday night.

It happened about 9:15 P.M. on Highway 50, near Hutcherson Road.

The unidentified deputy was going around a curve and hit something slick. His patrol car then spun out of control.

The deputy was responding to a call about a car in the ditch, near where he crashed.

Law enforcement say the driver of the car in the ditch was taken into custody on suspicion of impaired driving.

The deputy was not injured.
