LOWNDES COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) — A Lowndes county man is jailed after detectives say he broke into his former girlfriend’s home and confronts her and a friend.

Lowndes County detectives say 35-year-old Lawrence Porter was arrested at the home of his ex-girlfriend on Sydney Loop Road shortly after he broke in at about 4 a.m. Tuesday. He lives a short distance away.

No one was injured.

He is being held on $10,000 bond.

In an unrelated case, a store clerk at a busy truck stop is charged with embezzlement.

Lowndes County detectives say 36-year-old Kimberland Shelton is charged with taking more than $1,000 from the State Line Fuel Center on Highway 182 East.

She was arrested Wednesday.

Her bond is set at $5,000.
