VERONA, MISS. (WCBI) – Local authorities are on the lookout for suspects involved in a fight, which led to gunfire near a busy intersection in Verona.

It was around 12:30 Friday afternoon,  when 9 1 1 received calls about shots being fired in a convenience store parking lot on Raymond Avenue and Palmetto Road.

Witnesses said several men were involved in some type of altercation, when shots rang out. No one was hurt, but several parked cars were struck by bullets.

Authorities believe those involved have a feud dating back several years.

“I think, two years ago we had a shooting death on City Point Road and I think from there, a lot of these guys, some of the suspects family and victims family have been having a little few problems rather, and we are basically trying to bring some type of closure for the victim’s family and as well for the victim’s family as well for the citizens of Verona as well,” said Verona Police Chief J.B. Long.

The suspects fled and authorities, including the U S Marshals, are looking for a black male, who is about six feet two inches tall and weighing approximately 220 pounds. He is driving a white Infiniti.
