MACON, Miss. – (WCBI) The clerk shot multiple times in a Macon robbery dies from his injuries. Noxubee County coroner R.L Calhoun says that 28-year old Kris Haywood died just before 6 p.m. Thursday, after he was shot multiple times Monday night.

He was being treated at a Jackson hospital when he passed away. Community members gathered at the Concord Baptist Church in Macon to pray for the Haywood Family.

Pastor Sean Greer says the community has come together in the wake of tragedy.

“We’ve all gathered together as a community, as a body of Christ to show that it is our faith in God to know He is in control of all things. This isn’t surprising Him. We are just going to bring this petition as a community, before Him about Kris and his family,” says Pastor Sean Greer.

They have also set up an account at the Bank First in Macon, to help the Haywood Family with medical expenses. The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation is assisting with the case.
