Macon Shooting Suspect In Custody

MACON, Mississippi (WCBI) – Law enforecement in Illinois help Macon police track down a suspect in a shooting that happened in May.

Macon police chief Lucious Mason says the St. Clair County Sheriff’s Department in Belleville, Illinois informed his office in July that deputies had picked up Oscar Clemons and had him in custody.

Clemons was wanted for allegedly shooting Darius Halbert in the head during an argument on May fourth.

Clemons was brought back to Macon and charged with aggravated assault.

He was arraigned last week. His bond is set at $300, 000.
