COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – It’s that time again.

You can finally get rid or that old calendar with the coffee mug ring and a year’s worth of doodlings.

In the computer age, paper calendars still have place on your wall or desk, and now you can customize them to suit your tastes.

Photographs and memories, now you can marry the two in a gift that lasts the whole year through.

As we make the transition to 2013, you can mark the days on a customized calendar.

Dewey Petigo owns C&P Printing in Columbus.

He says, “10 or 20 years ago, it would not have been feasible to do 20 calendars for somebody like that, color copies and computers have made it so you can do it and still afford to give it away as a present.”

If you need a little help with the finishing touches, Dewey can lend a hand.

He advises, ” Well, you can either bring it in on a jump drive or disk, or if you do the calendar yourself, bring it to us and we’ll put a binder on it.”

Most of Dewey’s clients are businesses.

They can order calendars more than a 1,000 at a time.

Dewey says, ” Well we sell the calendar to one of our customers and then they give it their customers. It’s got the SEC football schedule and then, inside, its got the calendar.”

That way you still have something to hold onto in the months following the magic of bowl season.

And for your relatives, you can immortalize your rafting trip down the Colorado or publish a picture of your favorite white German Shepard.

Dewey lays it out like this, ” 99% of them is personal, family pictures. They take these pictures with the disk camera or digital camera I guess you’d call it. I’m not sure what you’d call it anymore.”

Whatever you call it, it’s never been easier to create a calendar that’s sure to deliver smiles as one month rolls into the next.

The key to creating a good calendar is taking plenty of pictures through out the year. So get out there and get snapping.
