Video: Man Arrested in Pontotoc Hit and Run

PONTOTOC COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) — A Pontotoc man is being held on $100,000 bond in connection with the hit-and-run death of 21-year-old Lequintray D. Williams, also of Pontotoc.

At approximately 4:30 p.m. July 15, two vehicles collided at the corner of Highways 275 and 345 in Pontotoc County. Williams was pronounced dead at the crash site.

Witnesses told investigators a black Dodge pick-up truck left the scene going south on highway 345. MBI agents located the pick-up truck in a wooded area off County Road 900 in Lee County near the Pontotoc County line.

Juan M. Hernandez, 36, of 10th Street in Pontotoc, has been charged with leaving the scene of an accident involving a fatality.

Hernandez is being held in the Pontotoc County Jail.
