Man Arrested in String of Columbus Car Burglaries

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) — Columbus police make an arrest in a string of car burglaries over the weekend.

Police arrested John Williams, Jr. and charged him with two counts of auto burglary.

Captain Fred Shelton says it’s all thanks to a resident who watched Williams get into a car, and take off with some stolen items.

Shelton tells WCBI eight cars on Dana Drive were broken into early Sunday morning.

Williams was denied bond for the break-ins.

Police say he was already out on bond on previous burglary charges.
