Lee county, miss. (wcbi) — a Nettleton man has been arrested and charged with impersonating a law officer.

Twenty-three-year-old Jacob Dye was arrested Monday afternoon at his residence. Lee Coutny Sheriff Jim Johnson says his office began getting complaints last week that a man in an unmarked vehicle was pulling drivers over on highway 45, questioning them, then letting them go.

Sheriff Johnson says officers searched dye’s residence and found various uniforms from the lee county sheriff’s department, and other area agencies.

Dye once worked as a detention officer in lee county but Sheriff Johnson says he had no police powers.

He is being held in the lee county jail and more charges are expected to be filed.
