Man Charged With Setting A Fire Inside Clay County Jail

WEST POINT, Miss. (WCBI) – Clay County investigators say he was in jail, the George Mario Gill tried to set it on fire.

The 37 year-old West Point man is charged with arson, fourth degree.

Sheriff Eddie Scott says the fire was quickly extinguished by jail staff and no injuries were reported.

Gill remains in jail.
