Video: Man Convicted of Kidnapping Reported Missing from SMCI

LEAKESVILLE, Miss. (Press Release) — South Mississippi Correctional Institution (SMCI) inmate Matthew Chester Tucker was discovered missing at approximately 11:20 a.m. today while on a work detail on the blueberry farm at the prison in Greene County.
Tucker was last seen on SMCI grounds wearing Mississippi Department of Corrections (MDOC) state-issued green and white striped pants with a tee-white shirt.
Authorities are searching for Tucker, a 35-year old white male with brown eyes, brown hair and weighs 145 pounds.
He is serving a 10-year sentence for a conviction of kidnapping of a minor from Coahoma County. Individuals with any information or sightings of Tucker are urged to contact local law enforcement or MDOC at 601-573-5613 or 662-745-6611.
