Man Dies Biking on Natchez Trace Parkway

CHOCTAW COUNTY, Ms. (WCBI) — A man has died after falling off his bicycle at the Natchez Trace Parkway.

A park ranger says De Loyd E. Stertz, 87, of Altoona Wisconsin died around 1:30 Monday afternoon.

National Park Service Rangers, Choctaw County Sheriff Department, and Medstat Ambulance Service responded to the incident.

It is believed, Stertz was overcome with exhaustion, but the official cause of death is still being investigated.
