Man Found Shot In Pontotoc County

PONTOTOC COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – An autopsy was being performed Monday on the body of a man found shot in a ditch Sunday night.

Pontotoc County Sheriff Leo Mask says deputies were called to Cooke Road about 9:45 PM.

The man was seen riding a horse on that road on Sunday.

Mask says investigators are interviewing people trying to figure out what happened.

Coroner Kim Bedford says the man’s body is at the state crime lab.

The man’s name has not been released. Deputies are still trying to contact members of his family.
