Man Gets 20 More Years for Armed Robbery
COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) — A Columbus man gets 20 more years to serve on top of 15 he’s already serving.
A Lowndes County Circuit Court jury deliverated about 90 minutes today before finding 21-year-old Daryl Shinn guilty of the June 20-11 armed robbery of Tiya’s Market on Waterworks Road in Columbus.
Judge Lee Coleman sentenced Shinn to 20 years in prison.
Police say he entered the store once, left and then returned armed with a handgun. He demanded cash and fled on foot. He already is serving 15 years for the 2010 armed robbery of the Black Creek Grocery in Lowndes County.
His new sentence runs consecutive to the one he’s serving.
