STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) – A Lowndes County man is sentenced to life in prison in connection with a Starkville stabbing.

Akeem Rasheed was found guilty of burglary and aggravated assault today in Oktibbeha County Circuit Court.

He was sentenced a short time later.

A man was stabbed at a Central Avenue home in July 2014.

Rasheed was sentenced as a habitual offender because of three prior felony convictions.
