MC Programs Receives SACS Okay
CLINTON, Miss. (AP) – Mississippi College says its academic programs have again been approved by a regional accreditation agency.
The private Baptist college in Clinton says in a news release that the Southern Association of Colleges and Universities reaffirmed the programs as part of a review that occurs every decade in an 11-state region.
MC first received the group’s accreditation in 1922.
Successful reaffirmation means students will continue to receive federal financial aid.
During a lengthy review by the accreditation agency, MC established a quality enhancement plan called U Research. It’s designed to improve student research and writing skills over the next five years.
English Department faculty incorporated U Research into the curriculum during the fall semester that just ended.
