MDOT Steps Up Look At Beer Truck Pictures

More details tonight about the story you saw first Saturday here on WCBI News.  Mississippi Department of Transportation officials say they have brought in more agencies to look into the apparent misuse of a MDOT Law officers truck.

These are pictures of an MDOT Enforcement truck being loaded with beer at a Pontotoc store Saturday morning.  WCBI has confirmed the truck was being driven to the Ole Miss Vanderbilt game in Oxford.

As you see in the pictures, unidentified people are stocking the coolers with beer  to be loaded into the truck.  We have learned that the truck is based in the Northern District in Tishomingo County.
In a statement to WCBI News MDOT Public affairs official said quote” MDOT does not tolerate the misuse of state property. This is a personnel matter, and it is being investigated through MDOT and State of Mississippi procedures for human resources action. Appropriate personnel action will be taken.”    The department declined to say if the officer involved remains on the job while the investigation is ongoing.
