MHP Investigating Farm Tractor Crash

PRENTISS COUNTY, Miss. (PRESS RELEASE) — The Mississippi Highway Patrol is still investigating a crash involving a tractor trailer semi and a farm tractor on US 45 in Prentiss County.

Troopers were dispatched to US 45, north of Frankstown, at approximately 2:45 p.m.

Upon arriving it appeared Alton Weeks, 52, of Corinth, was traveling north bound, operating a 2006 Freightliner, when his vehicle apparently collided into the rear of a John Deere tractor, driven by William Ragin, 48, of Baldwyn.

The tractor trailer overturned in the roadway, after the collision, causing traffic disruption for more than 2 hours.

Ragin was transported by private vehicle to Baptist Hospital in Booneville with minor injuries.

Weeks was transported to NMMC with moderate injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
