Video: MHP Releases Holiday Enforcement Results

JACKSON, Miss. (WCBI) — The results are in for the Mississippi Highway Patrol’s July 4th holiday enforcement period, which ended Sunday at midnight.

MHP says it issued more than 4,300 citations across the state, including 125 DUI arrests.

State troopers also investigated 138 crashes. Two of them in Kemper and George Counties were fatal.

In Troop F, which includes Pontotoc and Lee Counties, troopers worked 14 wrecks, and 14 DUI arrests.

As for Troop G, which includes Lowndes and Oktibbeha Counties, troopers investigated 12 wrecks, and arrested 16 for DUI.

MHP used 48 additional troopers during its enforcement period this year.
