Video: Miss America Contestants Give Back to Community

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. (WCBI) — Miss Mississippi is taking a break from pageant rehearsal to give back to the community.

Jasmine Murray – along with some other Miss America constestants – spent some time volunteering at the Atlantic City Rescue Mission.

Their efforts kick off “Miss America Serves” – a new program that puts an emphasis on local volunteering.

Pageant preliminaries started last Tuesday in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

The final competition will be broadcast live Sunday at 7 p.m. on ABC.
