JACKSON, Miss. (AP) — Louisiana authorities say a 17-year-old male from south Mississippi has been arrested in northwest Louisiana and faces kidnapping charges in Mississippi.

Webster Parish sheriff’s Deputy Ashley Johnson says the youth from Magee, Mississippi, was booked early Sunday on a hold for Mississippi. She says he faces kidnapping and credit card fraud charges in Simpson County.

Magee is about 215 miles from Minden, where he’s being held without bond in the Bayou Dorcheat (DOHR-cheet) Correctional Center.

On Saturday, Mississippi authorities put out alerts asking people to watch out for a 17-year-old woman and her 2-year-old son. The alerts said they might be with the youth now in jail.

Less than 20 minutes after emailing an Amber Alert, the Mississippi Department of Public Safety said they’d been found in Louisiana.
