Miss. Supreme Court to Rule on Superintendent Candidate

By Joey Barnes

UNION COUNTY, Miss (WCBI) — The Mississippi Supreme Court will rule if Roger Browning can remain a candidate for Union County Schools Superintendent.

Current superintendent and Democratic nominee Ken Basil filed a motion asking the state’s high court for a stay and an expedited briefing ruling.

A panel of justices denied the stay.

However, the briefing ruling was granted.

Paperwork must be filed by all parties by October 9, then the judges will rule if Browning can remain a candidate.

As of now, it appears his name will remain on the ballot. They must be printed by this weekend.
