Mississippi to Get $59,000 in Sirius XM Settlement

JACKSON, Miss. (AP) — Mississippi will receive $59,413 from Sirius XM Radio Inc. in a national settlement to resolve complaints about misleading advertising and billing practices.

Attorney General Jim Hood says the additional restitution for consumers has no cap and will depend on how many eligible residents of the state apply and the facts specific to their complaint.

Sirius XM agreed to pay a total of $3.8 million to 45 states and the District of Columbia.

Sirius XM’s restitution to consumers covers money lost due to billing and contract disputes that occurred between July 2008 and August 2014.

As part of the settlement, Sirius XM agreed to clearly detail its billing and contract terms.
