LOWNDES COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – A mother and daughter are indicted for the death of Manuel Vasquez.

Vasquez’s wife, Christina Martinez, is charged with murder and domestic violence aggravated assault.

The indictment accuses her of trying to kill her mother, Lydia Martinez, with liquid anti-freeze nearly a month after killing her husband.

According to court documents, Vasquez was killed on or about June 24 and Lydia Martinez was given anti-freeze on or about July 22nd.

Lydia Martinez is charged with accessory after the fact. She’s accused of helping destroy Vasquez’s body.

Lowndes County Coroner Greg Merchant says Vasquez’s remains were found outside his Windchase Drive home, then put in a container and burned.

The remains were then spread throughout the property.

Vasquez disappeared in late June after returning home from a trip to Texas.
