Monroe County Beautification Group Celebrates A Year of “Keeping Monroe Beautiful”

AMORY, Miss. (WCBI) – Usually you can find them out in the community planting flowers or picking up litter. The Monroe County chapter of Keep Mississippi Beautiful is one of the busiest in the State.

Today, members of Keep Monroe Beautiful took time out to recognize hard-working members at their annual awards luncheon. Community pride helps keep the organization active. Edna Cox, the group’s chairwoman,  says it’s not hard to get neighbors involved.

“We just asked everyone to join in and help keep our county beautiful, because we do have a beautiful world.”

Keep Monroe Beautiful members recently finished a litter clean-up in Prairie that brought in nearly 200 bags of garbage.
