MONROE COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) — A man who investigators say is one of the region’s largest dealers of an almost pure form of crystal meth is behind bars.

Monroe County Sheriff Cecil Cantrell says 51-year-old Michael Yielding is charged with possession of “ice” with intent to distribute.

The sheriff says narcotics agents discovered thousands of dollars worth of the potent drug, cash and other items during a search of Yielding’s home Monday night at 22016 Highway 45 North.

He’d been under investigation for months and agents were able to finally get a search warrant after making an undercover buy.

Cantrell says Yielding had been posing as a traveling meat salesman throughout the region but was selling the drugs out of his van instead.

Agents also charged 38-year-old Jonathan Wade Cole of Hamilton during the search.

Both remain in the Monroe County Detention Center.
