Monroe Shooting Victim Remains in Serious Condition

MONROE COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) — A Monroe County continues to recover at a Memphis hospital after being shot in the chin, chest and hand during a dispute Friday night.

According to his mother, Jeremy Dobbs has undergone surgery and remains in serious condition at The Med. He was airlifted there after being shot with a shotgun at a home on Guyton Road in Monroe County.

A 16-year-old also was shot during the dispute, but he was treated and released at an area hospital Friday night..

Monroe County Sheriff Cecil Cantrell says 47-year-old John Hand Jr. of Amory is charged with two counts of aggravated assault in connection with the shooting. He remains in the Monroe County Jail.

The shooting apparently started as a dispute between ex-spouses and turned violent.
