Video: MSU Autism Center Wins Grand Prize of Starkville Restaurant Week

STARKVILLE, Miss. – (WCBI) 31 restaurants participated, more than 12,000 ballots were cast, but only one charity took home the $5,000 grand prize.

The Greater Starkville Development Parntership announced Tuesday afternoon that the MSU Autism Center was voted as the charity of choice in this year’s Starkville Restaurant Week. Cadence Bank representatives presented to Dr. Daniel Gadke. Gadke says the money will help them keep the doors over the Austim Center open..

“It is going to let us stay open during the summer months. Every summer we have to decide whether we are going to stay open and provide services and just discontinue to the following school year. Hopefull, this will allow us to at least have that plan and stay open and provide services to the kids,” says Dr. Gadke, the Director of the MSU Autism Center.

The Starkville Habitat for Humanity was presented $1,000, while the Salvation Army was awarded $500.

The Veranda was recognized for the strongest participation.
