MSU Livestock Field Day

 

STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) — The M-S-U Livestock Field Day took place on Saturday at the M-S-U Beef Unit in Starkville.

M-S-U Extensive Service Specialists were on hand to give updates on research that’s related to reproduction, eye pigmentation, and stocker cattle health and management. Beef Unit Herdsman also were there to provide more updates on the university’s purebred and crossbred programs. Extensive Service Specialists also want to help the beef producers do a better job of producing beef.

“The research that we do a lot of it is designed to be applied directly to producers. So it’s our job to test things out and see what’s going to work best for producers here in the state to make them more efficient, be more profitable, and do a better job of producing beef,” said Beef Cattle Specialist Brandi Karisch.

Participants also got the chance to tour the beef, horse and dairy units after there lunch.
