STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) – Students from as far away as New Jersey and Canada are attending Vet Camp at Mississippi State this week.

The future veterinarians are learning more than just the basics about cats and dogs.

Some of the learning sessions focus on introducing campers to anatomy, microbiology, radiology, and physical exams of animals.

However, the students will only be working with stuffed animals.

“Most of our aspiring veterinarians, they want to learn more about vet medicine and this week they got to learn all about it. They do a lot of in depth, hands on labs and they really love it,” said MSU Vet Camp Student Director Austin Mobley.

The camp is open to kids ages 13 through 17.

It ends on Friday.
