TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) – It was an evening of carnival games, music, food, a fire dancer, and lots of facial hair.

Hundreds turned out at the JJ Rogers Building in Tupelo for the fourth annual “Mustache Bash.” The event began when several men decided to grow mustaches, much to the disapproval of their wives, then they decided to hold a fundraiser based around mustache.

Proceeds went to the Autism Center of North Mississippi, which is the only center of its kind throughout the entire state.

“We’re so thankful that they do this, it’s fun for the community, the community is learning more and more about the autism center, this year has been the best year as far as asking for sponsorship and donors to be involved,” said Brittany Cuevas, of the Autism Center.

“We are supporting a great cause, everybody is letting loose tonight, great crowd here tonight, hundreds of people supporting autism center, while we’re not taking ourselves seriously, it’s a very serious cause,” said Tupelo Mayor Jason Shelton.

Mayor Shelton was in a 70s themed costume. Our own Allie Martin even donned a stache for the evening.
