COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) — Mississippi University for Women is getting some green for going green.

On Thursday, the Tennessee Valley Authority gave the school a $150,000 grant for implementing a plan to reduce energy use.

Most of the grant money will be used for the Cromwell Communications Center on campus.

“It helps us keep the control on cost, so that we continue to be the most affordable four-year institution for our students,” said Nora Miller, Chief Financial Officer for the W.

MUW was one of three public universities in the state to receive the grant in 2012.
