N.M.M.C. Names New President

TUPELO, Miss. (AP) – David Wilson, the current president of Shelby Baptist Hospital in Alabaster, Alabama, has been named president of the North Mississippi Medical Center.

Wilson will begin his new job on March 30 in Tupelo.

The 50-year-old Wilson is the southern market leader for the Birmingham-based Baptist Health System, a four-hospital system. Before joining Baptist in 2006, he was CEO at Saint Francis Hospital in Bartlett, Tennessee.

The announcement was made Wednesday.

The Tupelo post has been vacant since September 2013. Donna Lewis Pritchard, who has served as the interim president, will resume her post as chief nursing executive for the hospital.

Wilson graduated with honors from the University of Tennessee with degrees in zoology and biology. He completed his master’s degree in health administration with honors from the University of Alabama-Birmingham.
