COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – A Columbus native has returned to the Friendly City on Saturday night to promote and fund raise for her unique book.

It was an evening to support hometown artist Rachael Pongetti, as she prepares to publish her book “The Pensacola Graffiti Project.”

The book is a 365-day photo publication covering the daily changes of the 17th Avenue graffiti bridge.

Pongetti is raising money for 33 days to fund and promote her book through www.kickstarter.com.

So far, she has raised more than $2,000 and has a goal of $25,000 by January 18th.

She says the book is all about the beauty of change.

“We all got together as a community and painted the bridge several hours in order to launch this project. Everybody wants the book to be made, it needs to be made to tell the story,” said Pongetti.
