Nettleton Erects Monument Honoring Veterans

NETTLETON, Miss. (WCBI) — Nettleton now has a monument to honor the city’s veterans.

The idea started five years ago with four residents who wanted to honor those who had served.

After some hard work and tremendous community support, the group decided on a design and and raised $42,000.

The black granite monument is on land donated by the town, and features the names of prisoners of war and veterans killed in action from World War I through the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq.
