New Appeals Court Judge Appointed

JACKSON, Miss. (AP) – Madison attorney Jack Wilson has been appointed to the Mississippi Court of Appeals effective July 1.

Gov. Phil Bryant made the announcement Tuesday in a news release.

Wilson will replace Court of Appeals Judge Larry Roberts, who is retiring June 30.  Roberts has served as a judge for the Appeals Court since 2006. Roberts previously served 19 years as a circuit judge.

Wilson works for the Jackson law firm of Bradley Arant Boult Cummings. Wilson also worked on Bryant’s staff from 2012-2014.

He earned his law degree from Harvard Law School where he was an editor of the Harvard Law Review. He holds a bachelor’s degree in accountancy from the University of Mississippi.

Wilson and his wife, Amanda, have three children.
