TUPELO, MISS. (WCBI) – There is a new man at the helm of the Tupelo Regional Airport.

Monday afternoon, during a special meeting, members of the Tupelo Airport Authority hired Cliff Nash as Executive Director.

Nash is director of the Tunica Airport and he is also president of the Mississippi Airports Association.

TAA Chairman Fred Cook says the new director will have some challenges, such as increasing passenger boardings for Seaport Airlines, and points out it’s vital to have someone running day to day operations at the airport.

“I think it’s that center hub that kind of ties us here in Tupelo, that’s what keeps us connected, so it’s important that our airport thrive and taking Mr Nash as our new executive director, we hope we’re in the right direction on that,” said Chairman of the Board of the Tupelo Airport Authority Fred Cook.

Nash has a tentative start date of May 1st.  He replaces Josh Abramson, who announced earlier this year he was resigning to take over operations at a Texas airport.
